Arabella Scalisi
Arabella Scalisi was born in Palermo in 1988.
From 2008 to 2010 she attended the two-year specialization course “Modem Studio Atelier” of Zappalà Danza company in Catania. In the following two years she enriches her training in Berlin, where she improves her artistic background with dancers and teachers such as Frey Faust, Renate Graziadei, Jess Curtis, Rebecca Hilton, Britta Pudelko, Hanna Hegenscheidt (Klein Technique), taking part in 2012 in the project “3 oder 4 Italienerinnen” by Renate Graziadei and Arthur Staldi.
In 2013 she collaborates with the Palermo company Muxarte for which she works in several shows and in 2014 she is performer in Cuore Corazza e Uscite di sicurezza for the Palermo in Danza company, choreographed by Vebjorn Sundby, Aymeric Aude, Enrico Morelli and Silvia Giuffrè, with whom she participates in the Tanzmesse Festival in Dusseldorf (2014) and in the Bielefeld Tanzfestival in 2015.
In 2014 she also takes part as performer in Ogni qualvolta levo gli occhi from the bookby Claudio Collovà and Sinaptica#2 by Alessandra Luberti and Sayoko Onishi for the Festival of Contemporary Art of the Orestiadi of Gibellina. In the same year she is dancer in Circle Time by Moto Armonico Danza, for which she interprets Nietzsche, or the dancing cosmos in 2017.In 2015 she collaborates with the company ZEROGRAMMI, dancing in Alcesti o suono dell’addio and with the company Cie Trans(Nice), interpreting Meltemuntil 2019.
Since 2016 she is interpreter of Orfeoby the physical theater company Balletto Civile.
She is the dancer of Requiem for Aleppo with choreography by Jason Mabana, a work that premiered at Sadler’s Wells in London and took part in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
In 2018/2019 she participates in Azione, a training course aimed at professional dancers, coming into contact with different contemporary realities of the Tuscan territory: Company blu, Sosta Palmizi, Aldes, Simona Bucci, Mk, Kinkaleri, Marina Giovannini, Cristina Rizzo, Le supplici.
Since 2018 he is interpreter of Sea Rant by Company blu with which he participates in the Festival Fabbrica Europa.
In 2019 she takes part as a dancer in Robert Carsen’s Traviata (Teatro la Fenice).
She is now a performer in several works by Mualem De Filippis dance Projects and the company Ariella Vidach AiEP.
